Profound Thoughts I: Of Love and Whatnots

I pretty much think about relationships and some other things happening in this world and from fictional worlds, of which I should not concern myself with, lately. I started reading lots tons of books-- those which revolve around love and fate or whatever others would relate to it. And I'm seriously getting worried about what goes on inside my head. It's not that I'm running suicidal or homicidal thoughts at that, but I can't seem to get a solid opinion and/or idea about relationships, and that's what exactly tips me off. 

I am not optimistic about the authors' optimism about love stories, though I secretly wish that these could exist in real life. But in whichever way I think of it, the relationships of the characters in the fictional worlds in my precious books are far simpler yet complicated than what reality is. 

Have I mentioned about the characters as well? The male protagonists in each love story are killing me! There could be no way that those fictional, almost-perfect creatures could co-exist with the human race in this universe-slash-galaxy. It's true, I somehow lost my faith in humanity, at least I lost my faith in MANkind. I am not saying that men are worthless jerks/douchebags, I actually get along pretty well amongst them-- as a friend, as a colleague, as a something else except those involving love or sex. After saying that, I also have that tiny bit of hope that maybe (just maybe) 1 out of 50, 000 male species out there is decent enough to be someone's ideal.

Right now, at this moment, I can't possibly give you a straight input or opinion about my idea about love and relationships. It is just complicated, like a mash-up song you hear over the radio but most probably from the mp3 you downloaded unto your iPods. So if you would like to ask me with a lineup of questions about L.O.V.E., my answer would greatly depend on my mood and what book I've recently read.

French Boys

Sorry but I can't help myself from blogging about French boys. They'll definitely make you swoon with their gorgeous faces and melt you with their eyes. I personally don't know any French people but according to what I've seen on Tumblr, movies and other blogs, they are hot, hot, hot. One who caught my attention is Jérémy Kapone, an actor and vocalist of Kaponz & Spinoza.

Basically, guys with beautiful accents are a huge turn-on, for me. Hearing them speak English with their French accent would never fail to make every girl fall for them. French is such a beautiful language as well, it's very kind to the ears and very romantic as well.

Before I forget to include another French jewel, here is the drop dead gorgeous model, Kevin Flamme. I honestly think he is a good guy, basing on his facial features. He looks so subtle and gentle and kind. Ugh!

       Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas by James Patterson:

I've decided to get another Patterson novel after reading Sundays at Tiffany's, hoping this novel would not disappoint my expectations.

          Slam by Nick Hornby:

Nick Hornby's name certainly rings a bell to me but I haven't read any of his books yet. I hope to have a glimpse of teenage boy's mind through this novel and somehow have an idea what goes on in there.

         Woman from Shanghai by Xianhui Yang

I love reading cultural and historical novels from Chinese authors since I learn a lot from their history, especially on how life is for the Chinese women. This book, I assume, would definitely open my eyes some more to certain issues and facts regarding women in China.

       Maynard & Jennica by Rudolph Delson

It's a novel about love and fate, or so that's what its back cover suggests. A little love story wouldn't hurt, so I'm going to sit back and watch how these two people unravel their tale.

        Forever by Pete Hamill

An immortal man who lives in the city that never sleeps, New York City. But there's a catch, he can't live the city in order to survive. It's "page-y" than some of the novels I own, and would require an ample amount of effort to read considering it is also historical in a sense.

Trois Paires de Chaussures

Okay, let's have a little bit of a French lesson here...
              Trois= Three; Paires= Pairs; de= of; Chaussures= Shoes

Yesterday I bought three pair of shoes in Manila, so I thought why not share how they look like? 

Sparkly pink peep-toe wedge sandals- These babies are one size smaller but they're so beautiful on the feet! I couldn't miss buying them even they are not my size.

Green and black peep-toe flats with metal details- They look a bit formal and would suit an office ensemble.

My favorite platform bow sandals- Gorgeous! Very comfortable and pretty, and adds about 3-4 inches to my height.

5 Cities I Would Like to Visit Next Year

First off, I am not a filthy rich celebrity nor a daughter of a business mogul whatsoever. I am an unemployed 20-year old registered nurse who happens to occasionally have a little money from some sources (parents and relatives), not the kind of sources that you may be thinking of. And this little money is just enough for me to buy books and clothing. Unfortunately for me, I have this yearning to visit every single country there is in this world— well maybe not all, but certainly those that I fancy. Well, I may be at a delusional state right now since I am hoping to visit these cities next year. I just do hope I get to do that.

So I shall I start? Listed are the cities I would like to visit, in no particular order:

1. Paris, France - this one’s pretty obvious; If you have scrolled down a bit in my blog, I have been into France and the French language lately because of Perkins’ novel. I do know that the standard of living in Europe is quite high but hey I’m being positive that I’ll earn tons of money in the near future— yes, I’m HOPING. I want to visit all the galleries, museums and parks that I could visit. Add the movie houses as well, there I would watch movies in raw French with no subtitles, which means I have to work hard on mastering the language. Je veux y aller en France maintenant!

2. Seoul, South Korea - CHERRY BLOSSOMS! Actually, if I happen to visit during the winter season I wouldn’t mind not seeing cherry blossom trees as long as I get to shop ‘till I pass out. Seoul is not necessarily the place you would go if you want to score cheap finds, but definitely a place to hoard nice fashion pieces. Aside from my now-waned-obsession with Korean music, dramas and movies, I find Korea very beautiful and serene. I couldn’t promise you that I wouldn’t be stalking  looking for my celebrity crushes inspirations but I am pretty sure that I wouldn’t get tired exploring every inch of this city eating, shopping, eating and shopping.

3. London, England - I was supposed to visit this city this year for a job interview but realized that it might not be worth it. I mean, I’m just going to have to visit London for an assessment I’m not even sure I could pass. Imagine all the money I would be squandering around just to get a visa, a ticket, a hotel, and money for my daily expenses. Again, I remind you that I’m an unemployed woman who does not want to borrow my parent’s money to go to London (out of shame). So instead of going this year, visiting next year might be better. This might be a shallow reason but my ears are eager to hear the genuine British accent of the locals. And have I mentioned English boys? No more explanation needed, I guess.

4. Tokyo, Japan - This country has a very rich culture, and I for once want to experience it. Wandering geishas/maikos in the street, my relentless love for sakura trees (cherry blossoms) and Japanese food will surely keep me happy while staying in this city. I’m pretty worried that I might need much more money to spend in Tokyo rather than in the European cities that I’ve mentioned earlier. And how am I suppose to own a kimono when it costs like $500 a set? Ka-ching!

5. New York, USA - Broadway, museums, fashion week (meaning that I should go during the FS season). I’m quite aware that there are a lot of things I could do around New York but I would definitely go to the theatre and watch a play/musical right away. I have been deprived of watching a play for some years now since there isn’t a single decent theatre around our city. Oh! And the fashion stores, how can I forgot? Despite the negative remarks of some about how dirty or dangerous New York is, I’m quite excited to take a glimpse of it. Should I take some 300-pound bodyguards with me when I go? Talking about high budget!
